There’s a look that can only be given between people that have gone through life together over a span of years.  It’s a look that says I know you, I see you, I choose you, I am by your side for the long haul.

I see glimmers of that look between the engaged couples I shoot.  There’s that hope, that giddy excitement, the unknown.  But it’s something different, deeper when it’s a couple that has stood the test of time.  

And that’s what I experienced when I spent the afternoon with Todd and Shannon.  They’ve been together for 15 years, and came to New York City to celebrate, shop, be with each other and friends, and get some time away from their house full of kids.  

Couples like Todd and Shannon give me such hope.  They remind me why I do what I do and that love, marriage, commitment, hope, even heartache is always worth fighting for.
